Here are some snapshots into the collaborative efforts of the InterArt Team at the High School of Art and Design. We are committed to bringing teachers and students together to create interdisciplinary projects with commercial arts and academics.

Look at what’s possible when our students engage in interdisciplinary projects! This is Rafiul’s project for AP Literature. He is an architecture major who designed this structure after being inspired by Seamus Heaney’s poem “Scaffolding.” Click the video to see how his model works!

He said that he was especially inspired by the lines:

“So if, my dear, there sometimes seem to be

Old bridges breaking between you and me

Never fear. We may let the scaffolds fall

Confident that we have built our wall.”

Last April, several Art and Design students participated in the beta test of JAM (Jamboree for Arts and Music.). In May, several students were selected to be a part of the first JAM LAB. Here is some footage of their experience.
